Knowing the value of your art is valuable and assuring since art can sometimes be a very subjective matter. A painting can be considered priceless to a potential buyer if they admire that particular artist’s collection, whether the artist is famous or not. Conversely, in some cases, original paintings by lesser known artists are valued less than signed art prints by famous artists such as Picasso or Warhol.
The result of art appraisals - a comprehensive and detailed report describing the work, a trace of its provenance and authenticity and an estimation of its current value - is a basis for the resale price or insurance coverage of the artworks. Depending on your need, Baterbys provides two levels of appraisals you can choose from:
1). Basic Desktop Appraisal Service – a detailed
report describing the work and its value based on
digital image/s (uninspected/physically unseen). Authentication is not provided.
2). Full Appraisal Service – For estates, collections
and high-end artworks that require full appraisal
reports. A multi-page and complete appraisal
will be provided.
If you want to sell your artwork, Baterbys' art experts and seasoned appraisers will also provide you with different options you can take based on the analysis of the appraisal information.
For insurance purposes, we suggest checking with your insurance company prior to contacting us to see if they require a certain type of documentation for coverage to be obtainable on the painting.
