“Because children can’t fight cancer alone!” is B.A.S.E. Camp’s reason for being. Their programs and endeavors serve two main groups - children whose parents are battling with cancer and children who have been diagnosed with cancer. They have created innovative programs with the goal of bringing these children and families together for mutual encouragement and memorable group interactions.
Their events and activities create opportunities for patients and their families to share helpful information and insights about the common journey they are travelling. Weekly Hospital Lunch, Clinic Birthday, End-of-Chemo Milestone Parties, Monthly Overnight Camps, Theme Park Tickets and Patient Aid are only some of the programs B.A.S.E. Camp offers.
B.A.S.E. Camp has two meanings; first it is an acronym for Believe, Achieve, Support and Educate. The second meaning is symbolic of the encampments found at the BASE of a mountainside where climbers can stop for rest, first aid, nourishment and encouragement along their journey up the mountainside. They believe that CANCER is a similar journey in the life of a child, and therefore serve as the encampment where they and their family can come for help throughout that journey.
On August 1, the Entire Buyer’s Premium that will be raised at the Quarterly Live Auction will be donated to B.A.S.E. Camp. To register for this event, click here. |
