( 1951-) Isaac Maimon, along with the support of his parents, devoted his life to pursuing a career in the arts. He studied at the Avni Institute of Fine Art in Tel Aviv, Isreal’s most prestigious academy for the arts. In school, he became enraptured by the Paris school and admired the work of Henri de Toulouse- Lautrec and Henri Matisse. Later in his life, he taught at the School of Visual Arts in Beer-Sheeba and the Kaye Art Academy. His job as a restauranteur and pub owner facilitated his ability to capture the thoughts and expressions of the cafe patrons that he sketched regularly. His love for the coffeehouse atmosphere is recreated in each of his works.
