Jul. 30, 2009 – Baterbys Art Gallery partners with B.A.S.E. Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation Saturday, August  1st.  The auction includes works by Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Ken Keeley, Peter Max and Leroy Neiman. All of the buyer’s premium from auction sales will contribute towards the non-profit organization, which provides developmental and holistic programs for children with life-threatening illness.
The acronym B.A.S.E. stands for believe, achieve, support, and educate, as the center seeks to give year long support to children and families who are faced with the challenges of terminal illness. The B.A.S.E. Camp program focuses on ‘being normal,’ as children and families participate in peer groups, experience weekly hospital-lunch delivery, monthly overnight camps, parent-support groups, clinic parties, and weekly events that help children cope with the process of treatment.Baterbys desires to help shape the community by donating funds from our buyer’s premium sales to this non-profit organization that was established in Orlando in 1982.
