1. Peter Max’s actual name is Peter Max Finkelstein.
  2. Max spent his childhood growing up in Shanghai, China after escaping persecution in his birthplace of Germany.
  3. Peter Max founded his own Manhattan art studio in 1962.
  4. Max’s popular theme which he painted of “Flower Blossom Lady” is actually the profile of his first wife, who was a model. He used her likeness as the model for all of his nameless female figures.
  5. Peter Max in fact DID NOT create the artwork for the Beatles famous song “Yellow Submarine”. He did however serve as inspiration for the style. The music video’s creative director was Heinz Edelmann.
