Duaiv was born in western France in 1952. He picked up his first paintbrush at three years old, destroying the walls of his family’s home, and then completed his first oil painting at the age of nine. When he and his family moved to an island off the coast of France, Duaiv became inspired by the coastal scenery. He has been known to do “live paintings,” where he paints spontaneously in front of a crowd for entertainment. During the last ten years, the work of Duaiv has received considerable recognition. He has had numerous solo exhibitions in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain and the United States. Duaiv has received the “Greci Marino” award from the International Academician, the European Foundation Prize, and the Commander of the Order of the Star of Europe.
