This is an offset lithograph originally published in Verve Vol III. In addition to his status as a genius painter, Picasso was also a superb printmaker. In just under two decades he produced over 350 lithographs through a partnership with Mourlot Studios. Lithography appealed to Picasso’s desire to situate himself within the lineage of great Spanish artists like Francisco Goya. Here, he depicts a nude woman and a man reaching out to touch her.
